FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Flight Test Pricing
10/01/2010 I am
chainging my fee structure based on several factors. This is my first rate increase in more than four years.
- Expenses for travel have
continued to rise. I make myself available to the entire San Antonio district,
and I charge the same fee for initial tests no matter the location. As my costs
increase, I am forced to raise my rates to reflect the change.
- Our Pilot Examiner handbook
now forbids us from conducting more than two testing events in one day except
when authorized in writing, in advance, for each additional test requested. This
makes it unlikely that I will be able to work as efficiently as before in
combining partial tests that have been previously discontinued due to weather,
mechanical, or performance reasons. This limits the amount of work we can do
while our travel and other expenses continue to increase.
- Previously I charged half price for re-tests and
nothing to continue tests that were interrupted for weather, mechanical, or
personal reasons. I am raising my re-test fee, and will charge an appointment
fee to resume a discontinued test.
